Suffering From Anxiety, Stress, Frustration? Meditation Helps Balance Emotions

In addition to several benefits one sees by the regular practice of meditation, meditation is also a  powerful support to call upon, when it comes to relieving emotional distress such as anxiety, depression, and chronic resentment or regret. As scientific studies show, once we meditate, breathing slows, blood pressure decreases, and stress hormone levels fall.

Though our bodies are quiet and in a  resting state during meditation, our mind is awake.

It’s wonderful to know that we don’t need to repress what we feel internally in order to feel inner peace!

In fact, repressing emotions never leads to emotional freedom but only adds to the accumulation of toxicity in the body.

By not repressing or fixating on emotions, they can move through and from the body.

Regular meditation practice allows us to spend more and more time in peace and the silence of pure awareness. It becomes simple to let go of old patterns of feeling and thinking as this sense of spaciousness expands in your everyday life.

We start to gain some distance from our stressers, as we put our focus on our breath, a mantra, or a different object of meditation.

There is a calming of the internal commotion as we start to witness our mental activity, without trying to resist or change it. Over time one will begin to notice that some distance was made around the emotional state.

We begin to see that there is more to who we are than our thoughts, and we might observe the sensations associated with the state in which the negative dissolve altogether.

Let’s allow ourselves to cultivate a regular practice of meditation.
